Barcode & QR Tools

Make, scan and check every kind of code, in your browser.

About the Barcode Generator

Type what you want to encode and the generator suggests the right symbology: a product number goes in EAN-13 or UPC-A with its check digit verified, a shipping container in GS1-128, digits in Interleaved 2 of 5, anything longer in a 2D code. Or choose from more than a hundred symbologies yourself. Set the bar height, the text, colours, rotation and quiet zone, and size it exactly for print at the resolution of your printer.

Frequently asked questions

Which barcode should I use?
For products sold in shops, EAN-13 (or UPC-A in North America) with a GTIN from GS1. For your own labels, inventory and tickets, Code 128 is the dense, universal choice. If you need more than about 40 characters, use a 2D code such as QR or Data Matrix.
Can I make a barcode for a product I sell?
You can draw any number, but a retail barcode only means something if the GTIN is registered to you by GS1. The generator checks the check digit; it cannot check who owns the number.
Is anything I type or scan uploaded?
No. Codes are drawn and read inside your browser (bwip-js and the ZXing reader, compiled to WebAssembly); nothing you type, upload or point the camera at reaches our servers.
Can I make codes from a script, a spreadsheet or an AI agent?
Yes, with no account. https://openvibe.tools/api/codes/qrcode.svg?text=Hello is the image itself (any symbology, .svg or .png; /api/codes lists them), so it works in an <img> tag or Markdown. POST /api/v1/tools/<tool>/run answers JSON, and the OpenAPI document is at https://openvibe.tools/api/v1/openapi.json.
